The emergency cables are too short. Is there a different cable available I can order?

Hi Demetrio,

I see that your car is a 1957 and all of our AC Industries disc brake kits start at 1958. I’m sorry, but we do not make an E-brake cable for your ’57. The emergence brake cables for the ’56-’57 are longer than the ’58 and to adapt our disc brake kit to your car you will need to have custom cables made by a company that makes control cables. You can start with the cable assemblies that were supplied in the kit and have just the cable portion replaced and you will need to supply the correct length to who ever will make the cable.

Control Cables is a local company that we recommend and have found them to be easy to deal with and have had replies from customers that they have been very happy with the parts they’ve received. All this being said, this company is NOT a company that makes parts for VWs. This company makes custom cables, from the information that you will supply. It will be up to you, the car owner, to give them accurate information, as they will build your cables to order and they won’t have the specs for your specific car.
