Ask Andy6 to 12 volt convertion flasher relay

I have a 66 Bug that had already been converted to 12 volt. I am trying to get the turn signals to operate; does the emergency flasher relay have to be changed as well as?

Hi Jack,

Yes, you will need to update your turn signal flasher from 6 volt to 12 volt. In 1966, this is a one year only combo flasher unit. If you can find a 1967-1968 flasher, this will be 12 volt and a direct replacement. If not, we do have a conversion kit that will work and will allow you to only buy a common two pin 12 volt flashers in the future. It is very easy to install and comes with directions.

Thanks, Andy
