Hi Leo,

There isn’t a call out for that in any of the factory manuals that I have ever seen. As a rule of thumb, you would want you body and door caps to be equal and uniform. I have gone out a measured some of the cars here at So Cal Imports and here is what I have found:

Bugs, front of door to body, .100 to .140, back of door to body, .200 to 2.50

Bus, 1968 on, front of door to body .200 to .250, back of door to body, .120 to .180
